FROM THE ASHES
This is a story of a table lamp which burst into flames and caught the house on fire. On a beautiful sunny day, the sun beam hit the lamp sitting on a cabinet by the window when my clients were on vacation. The rest is history.
We were determined to give our client the best look they could have and we decided to upgrade the kitchen and window area in bright colours. A pendant lamp from 1940 and a hanging pot rack designed by the father of our client were the obvious starting points of the design. We aimed for a transitional look, where new meets old, contemporary meets traditional. The white oak and bronze palette worked beautifully with some of the existing oak furniture and served as a neutral backdrop for the wide-open view.
The result is a soulful blend, beyond colours and shapes, and a happy client.
